Moderator
Job description
The Minecraft Moderator Volunteer will be responsible for assisting with the moderation and management of our Minecraft server. This includes monitoring player behaviour, enforcing server rules, and ensuring that all players have a positive and enjoyable experience on the server. The Moderator will also be responsible for helping to maintain a safe and welcoming online community for young people with neurodiversities and disabilities, and must be inclusive and accepting of different disabilities, neurodiversities, gender identities, and other diverse backgrounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor player behaviour on the Minecraft server to ensure compliance with server rules and guidelines.
- Enforce server rules and guidelines, including issuing warnings and temporary or permanent bans when necessary.
- Respond to player inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Help to maintain a safe and welcoming online community for young people with neurodiversities and disabilities and promote inclusion and acceptance of diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Assist with server maintenance and updates as needed.
- Collaborate with other moderators and staff to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Minecraft server.
- Use Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft ecosystem to communicate with other team members and staff.
- Use Discord to communicate with players and other community members.
- Other duties as assigned by the Minecraft Server Administrator or other higher ups.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Minecraft and experience playing on multiplayer servers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Experience working with young people with neurodiversities and disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Must be inclusive and accepting of different disabilities, neurodiversities, gender identities, and other diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to use Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Ability to use Discord.
