What a superb opportunity for an IT Change Manager to come and join a large Service Delivery Team within Defence that is implementing Service Now. You will lead all operational Change and Release workflows relating to Service Delivery in line with ITIL processes and minimise the adverse impact of Change and Release with the integration of Service Improvements and Projects on the business, to ensure a smooth transition into Service and Support. The role also includes handling the Sopra Steria involvement with site power maintenance and outages especially where there is an impact to IT services supported by Sopra Steria.

This is a Hybrid fixed role with 2 days a week on site in Salisbury OR Portsmouth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Engage with users and partners to validate, approve and progress Changes throughout the process from initial request to implementation
  • Assess user Service Requests
  • Liaise with project staff and Service support team members, progress the transition of project and internal service improvement innovations into operational service
  • Prioritise and chair the Change Advisory Board meetings
  • Provide a combined Change and Future Project Changes schedule
  • Develop and maintain the Schedule of Release and all Change related processes and documentation
  • Co-ordinate with the Service Desk and other Service support teams for all Organisational Change activities. Day to day management of the Change and Release team.

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive Knowledge and Experience of ITIL and Change Processes
  • Extensive Management experience in a complex IT support environment
  • Understanding of DevOps, Agile and SCRUM methodologies
  • Understanding of Service Design
  • Understanding of DevOps, Agile and SCRUM methodologies
  • Previous experience as a Change and Release Manager
  • Awareness of Windows /Linux Operating systems
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, systems management and monitoring tools
  • Experience of Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Previous use of a Service Management toolset such as Service Now
