CLINICAL FELLOW IN MAJOR TRAUMA

Applications are invited from trainees having completed or about to finish the UK Foundation Programme to apply for the position of Clinical Fellow in a wide variety of clinical specialties in NHS Lothian.
The appointed Clinical Fellows will work under supervision with local clinical teams to develop skills in the clinical areas of their choice. They will also provide a proportion of out of hours activity.
These posts will be supported to focus on their own personal development including Simulation and Skills training, Quality Improvement, or Undergraduate Teaching throughout the year through 10% Guaranteed Development Time.
This is a 6 or 12 month post (candidate specific) at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). The post is appropriate for CT level trainees who wish to pursue a career in emergency medicine, anaesthesia, orthopaedics, general surgery, critical care and other surgical specialities with an interest in the multiply injured patient and who wish to gain further experience in the management of Major Trauma patient in a busy Major Trauma Centre.
This post is whole time and is covered by the Medical and Dental staff Terms and Conditions of Service and National Terms and conditions for Specialty Doctor and Associate Specialist grades.
The post holder will work closely with the multi professional team to coordinate the pathway for the multiply injured patients.
Applicants will have the ability to lead others, think strategically and communicate effectively; they will demonstrate how they will work collaboratively, influencing decisions and outcomes, and be committed to improving care in a complex healthcare organisation.
Start date is negotiable, commencing from August 2023.
