Job description
This is a full time and permanent post, working 35 hours per week.In this newly created role, the post holder will provide direct support to the Accounting compliance and tax manager in ensuring all statutory accounting, tax and compliance requirements for the university and its subsidiaries are delivered.
You will be a point of contact with university colleagues of all disciplines for financial regulatory compliance and tax issues. You are expected to deal professionally and efficiently with colleagues.
The post-holder will be expected to develop an understanding of the academic and commercial activities of the university group to assist and support in maximising returns and cash flow through efficiencies and beneficial tax planning.
The role requires an ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines with a strong attention to detail. A flexible and professional attitude with strong organisational skills and an ability to prioritise is expected.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an organised and ambitious person to further develop their experience in statutory financial reporting and to gain knowledge of direct and indirect taxation in the HE and charity sector. You will have good experience in preparing statutory financial statements for audit.
You may have or be working towards a professional tax qualification.
