Lead Infrastructure Architect

Location: UK - Bracknell

Are you passionate about Infrastructure? Are you some who works with little supervision and is self-sufficient acting with in-depth knowledge of specialization in supporting a Data Centre refresh and the ongoing support of the existing Environments? This exciting opportunity is looking for someone who is motivated to deliver lead Infrastructure Architect role. We are looking for the right person to join our team as a Lead Infrastructure Architect supporting all aspects of Infrastructure and program. Your role

The client is a financial services and retail company with over 11,000 locations across the UK. Fujitsu provides the back-office systems to support their business from our Data Centres, these systems are currently using a mixture of infrastructure including BX Blade frames connected to Eternus Storage arrays as well as a variety of appliances and networking infrastructure. We are entering into a programme of work to refresh elements of this environment; hence we are looking for a Infrastructure Architect to understand that current implementation and to work alongside the projects performing the replacement.

The role will involve being the subject matter expert for all the Account Infrastructure and to be able to impact assess design changes to the environments. The role will require you to familiarize yourself with the existing Infrastructure across our Datacenter and offices. Responsible for maintaining and validating existing Inventories and Design Documentation held by the account. Alongside this Lead the new design proposal as the Lead Architect, design and introduction of new infrastructure into the estate. Work alongside the team to define and agree the Migration Strategies for the introductions of the new infrastructure solutions. Working closely with the Project Managers to identify, describe and monitor the tasks that need to be completed to achieve the required goals. The role will be reporting into the Account Infrastructure Programme Manager with dotted line to Account CTO.

Your experience

  • Experience in leading infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of Infrastructure Architect and deploys the correct standards & processes, in particular with infrastructure and networks.
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills - communicates fluently orally and in writing and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership
  • Resilient under pressure and can manage own time to deliver requirements
  • Planning and organisational skills with ability to prioritise work and deliver to deadline
  • Report writing and analysis.
  • Analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Experience in working as part of virtual teams

Location – Remote working with visits to Bracknell (1 day/month) for Project meetings and potentially occasional visits to the Data Centres.
