Job description
The primary aim of the Assistant Finance Manager role is to provide finance support and advice to the management of commissioning budgets in support of the CSU Contracting Team.

This role will involve contracts across the local ICS. The key elements will be providing financial advice, planning, monthly reporting, variance analysis and accompanying narrative.
  • At all times encourage and support customer centricity, enabling service improvement and promoting business growth.
  • To support the preparation of annual budget/plans as part of the annual financial planning process, in conjunction with the relevant commissioning managers and other members of the finance contracting team.
  • To produce monthly budget statements for presentation to the budget holders and to inform the monthly reporting process. This will include the investigation of variances from budgets and suggested solutions.
  • To ensure financial information is processed in accordance with procedures and required timescales and ensure month end and year end forecasts are reported accurately for designated areas.
  • Regularly analyse and reconcile certain ledger accounts, advising on mis-codings, supporting the production of associated working papers for audit purposes.
  • Analyse and investigate financial variances, discrepancies and queries, interpret and explain these differences effectively to financial and non-financial staff.
The post holder will support the Senior Finance Business Partner and their team to ensure that their work stream of programmes are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
