Perth and Kinross Council is seeking to recruit a qualified Architect to work on a complex range of capital and revenue funded projects, support delivery of externally delivered projects and to assist the further rationalisation and adaptation of a large property estate.
Perth and Kinross Council embraces a mixed economy of project delivery utilising both internal and external design teams as well as drawing on the services of Hub to deliver capital projects; the successful candidate will have involvement in managing these teams.
We will soon deliver the first Passivhaus Primary School in Scotland and continues this lead with development of a Passivhaus sports / swimming pool facility and other schools.
This post is currently homeworking due to the pandemic. Perth and Kinross Council is currently progressing with a hybrid working model offering access to office working on some days/when required. Initially this is on a temporary basis with longer term options becoming available in future. The Individual
You will be:
- Educated to degree level with an appropriate property related professional qualification relevant to the post (e.g. RIBA Part III or equivalent professional qualification in Architecture)
- Architects Registration Board (ARB) registered.
Candidates must have suitable professional and technical experience across a wide range of property types, contracts and have the ability to lead and deliver projects, of varying size and complexity, to programme, budget, and quality standard.
You must be skilled in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM Collaborate Pro and other Office software applications and able to work independently or as part of a Design Team.
You must have a valid driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
Perth and Kinross Council has an ambitious plan to address the challenges of climate change and the successful candidate will be expected to possess knowledge and experience of delivering low carbon and energy solutions to meet Climate Change policies applied to new build and refurbishment projects as a primary criteria.
