About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Built Environment Team to contract manage and deliver residential, civil engineering, public realm, community, and other various Capital, Revenue and Corporate based projects.
Working from Crawley’s new Town Hall, you can make a real difference to Crawley, its people, and local businesses. 75 years on from its establishment as a new town, Crawley is now a regional powerhouse with more than 114,000 residents, a £6bn economy and Gatwick Airport, the world’s busiest single runway airport.
The post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable, to be responsible for all aspects associated with the preparation, design, supervision, construction, financial control and certification of construction, civil engineering, and community-based works. These will be undertaken within the individual projects allocated, including liaison with officers of other directorates, the Highway Authority, and other bodies as necessary.
The post holder will need to be organised and committed to quality, have construction knowledge, be able to use their own initiative and able to communicate to a variety of audiences.
With the new and updated Building Regulations, the council’s commitment to zero carbon, and water neutrality challenges, the post holder will need to be innovative and work with design teams to progress schemes to achieve these various standards. You will work within cross council working groups and have the ambition and motivation to deliver a quality service and build relationships quickly.
As a member of CIOB, RICS or similar, you will have programme, technical, and project management experience on a varied range of projects.
